The Honey Island Swamp Monster(working title)
Prolouge
It was about 12:47 AM but Lora D'iesfirst wasn't sleeping, instead she was out in the swamp walking home. She always went out in the swamp but this was the first time she had ever been out this late. She had found an undiscoverd part of the swamp and gone exploring. Now she was lost, cold, hungry, and scared. It was about this time that she heard the sound. It was animal in nature but sounded faintly human. It seemed to come from all around her echoing of the trees, she began to walk faster and then stopped. She heard breathing coming from behind her, she slowly turned to look behind her and her heart skipped a beat. Of all the times she had been in the swamp she had never seen anything like this before, a Creature that was roughly 9 ft tall and ugly as hell, looking something like a cross between a gorilla and a gator, with coarse hair covering its body. It stared at her, it's blood red eyes seeming to pierce her soul, it was then that she started to run. She ran as far as her legs could carry her and then ran some more. When she could go no more she stopped, praying that she had lost whatever it was. But no sooner had she stopped than the water beside her erupted, the creature leaping out at her and pulling her under as her scream cut through the night. As the moon began to rise the water turned red with her blood.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP click. The man turned off the alarm and looked at the clock it said 4:20.
"My God" the man thought "I have got to get another job". he slowly got up to take a shower.
Afterwards he went through the normal routine of getting ready for work only barely noticing his fiancee was not home yet.....
"Lora I'm home!", said Jack Michaels as he walked through the door. Usually when he got home Lora would just be waking up due to her being up late every night. "Lora you up?" He walked into the bedroom expecting to see her sprawled lazily across the bed asleep, but instead he found only an empty bed. This was not as unusual as it might seem due to the fact she spent most of her time in the swamp ever since getting laid off.
So instead of freaking out he simply got undressed put on a pair of shorts and watched the news, learning that Michael Jackson his childhood idol, had died yesterday.
